- Does the carrier have the support structure to protect and maintain the carrier's interior space for your pet when it is compressed, such as under an airplane seat? Are the structural pressure points reinforced?
- Is the carrier balanced and leveled to the ground for both your comfort and your pet's?
- Are the materials suitable and closures secure to prevent an accidental runaway? Is there a security mechanism to restrain your pet when needed?
- Does the carrier offer proper ventilation and protection? Does it allow the pet to maintain privacy and also eye contact with your when needed?
- Are there safe, non-toxic materials and no loose parts insider?
- Are the contact areas properly padded and straps adjustable? If not, you will feel it soon!
- Is there enough storage for your travel needs? You don't want to carry too many bags and lose the one your pet is in!
- Is the carrier suitable and safe for your travel method? Allowing part of your pet to hang when the carrier isn't close to your body is not a good idea.
A size reference chart is included for each style. However, size isn't the only consideration. Here are four steps to help you choose the right Pet carrier:
STEP 1: Your Intended Usage - How often do you use the carrier? Why and how are your traveling? How long must the pet be inside? Which carrying method(s) will be most suitable - by hand, on your shoulder, evenly on your back or securely in the front?

STEP 3. Your Pet's Size - Except for birds, a pet can be longer and taller than the carrier's length and height because our furry friends have a very soft body, and they often curl up inside when the carrier is in motion. Most importantly, you need to consider your pet's size, not his or her weight. By size, we mean your pet's height when standing and his or her length. As a general rule, your pet should be able to stand up and turn around inside the carrier. As our pets' bodies are very flexible, you may not need to have the full length for the pets to fit comfortably inside.
Your pet can be taller and longer than the carrier's size!
Shown on left is our world traveler pet Milo. As he travels frequently, a smaller size carrier is more compact and convenient for his guardians. Oftern, it is a compromise between you and your pet!

Our pet carriers are well-made, sturdy carriers that can carry heavy weights. When choosing your pet's carrier, remember it is your pet's size, not his or her weight, that you need to consider. The charts below lists sizes, set-up dimension and (base - for airline travel reference) dimension, and possible weight limits as a reference. As a general rule, the pet should be able to stand up and turn around inside of the carrier. As these are soft-sided carrier, a pet seemingly larger than the carrier can still turn around inside.
