Here are some tips from our customers' experience:
Never push your pet inside a new carrier and expect him or her to be cooperative during the trip! Most pets love to be with you all the time. If you start introducing a good pet carrier when he or she is young, there are few places you can't go with your pet. You can enjoy a full meal in a restaurant, saw a movie and shop as frequently you want. Yet, we have many pet lovers who adopt a rescued pet that may have been tramatized, you may want to consider a roomier carrier for your pet to curl up and hide and darker interior and strong fabric. For the hypro-active ones, bring a few more treats and attentively acclimate your pet to the experience.
For the chewers, to minimize the possibility of having him or her picked out a few teeth of the zipper, a customer has suggested leaving a toy inside to keep your pet busy and may also apply some 'Bitter Apple' along the zipper teeth to discourage the activities.
If your pet is very calm, you can use small size carrier. For the curious one who moves around inside to see through different window mesh, you may want to have a large size to allow him or her free movement.
If you must keep your pet inside the carrier for hours, open the front window flap and roll up all size curtains to allow your pet maintaining eye contact with you.
In case your pet is nagging, unzip just enough length in the front window mesh for your hand to reach in to pet and calm him or her down. Keep the front window flap down to keep the viewing to minimum. All our carriers use zipper with auto-locking device to prevent it from sliding open unless the zipper head is pulled.
When it is very hot or cold, utilize the climate control compartment and insert a cooling or heating pad. In case you cannot find a suitable size pad, use a thin towel to wrap around the one you find and place it atop or between the floor padding and plastic board inside the waterproof floor trap. It will help your pet to stay comfortably inside.
